Steve Jobs biopic
Steve Jobs biopic_ George Clooney is up for the role of the late Steve Jobs in a planned biopic, according to a report.
Clooney is said to be vying with former ER costar Noah Wyle for the role, according to Now Magazine in the U.K. The article did not cite any sources for the claim.

Since Jobs died on Oct. 6, there has been chatter about making a movie to profile his life. Sony is planning a cinematic adaptation of Walter Isaacson's Steve Jobs bio, according to The Los Angeles Times, which reported that Social Network writer Aaron Sorkin was among a short list of screenwriters being recruited for the project.
Wyle, as some readers may recall, played Jobs in Pirates of Silicon Valley, a movie that aired on TNT in 1999. As the video below demonstrates, he also memorably stood in for Jobs at the opening of Macworld that year.

Matt Barnes on breakup

Matt Barnes on breakup
Matt Barnes on breakup_ It's not just rumor this time: Gloria Govan and Matt Barnes have officially called it quits.

Matt and Gloria, who seem to be very much in love on this season of "Basketball Wives: LA," have broken up. This comes a little over a year after the two called off their wedding in August of 2010.

Forgoing the standard of a joint statement, they each confirmed whispers of their split separately yesterday.

“I’d like to address the rumors surrounding mine and Gloria’s relationship," Matt said in an e-mailed statement. "We have reached the difficult decision of ending our relationship and will be going our separate ways at this time."

He added, "We will work together to raise our sons and wish each other only the best.”

Gloria chose to make her statement via Twitter, confirming that she and her long-time fiancé are no longer an item.

"I'm sure you guys are hearing a ton of buzz about Matt and Me breaking up, sorry to say... its true!" Gloria tweeted Monday afternoon, backing up Matt's sentiments that their children will be their focus through the heartbreak. "The most important thing is focusing on my kids and continuing to have a good relationship with their father, thanks for your support!!!

Matt and Gloria have 3-year-old twin boys, Carter Kelly and Isaiah Michael. The couple share a home, but their current living situation is not clear. Both Matt and Gloria have tweeted in the last few days about taking of the twins, who are feeling a bit under the weather.

News of the split may not come as a complete shock as Gloria retweeted a message from @TheNotebook on Satuday, stating, "If someone is dumb enough to walk away, be smart enough to let them go. Your destiny is never tied to anyone who leaves you." That was after Matt got into a Twitter tiff with one user who said that Matt needed to marry Gloria before someone else did. The Los Angeles Times reports that Matt tweeted, "He can have her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Good Will Hunting house for sale

Good Will Hunting house for sale
Good Will Hunting house for sale_ Calling all cinephiles! A piece of LA film history has hit the real estate market -- and it comes with a price chop. This is the house where Ben Affleck (an Occidental College alum) and Matt Damon lived while writing the script for their Academy Award winning film, "Good Will Hunting." Originally, the farmland was purchased by Eagle Rock pioneer, Albert Brasch who commissioned architect Jean L. Egasse to design the "chalet" like property.
In 1923, shortly after the home was built, California Southland stated, "To design a house for a hillside as one would plan an ornament for a crown or sword hilt: to make the hill a picture or a tapestry of houses and gardens—this is the craft of J.L. Egasse who seems able to grasp the ensemble of a hillside and to build his house and garden as a part of the landscape." The four bedroom, two bathroom property features fireplaces, crown molding, stone floors, a detached garage, and treetop views. The Hansel and Gretel-style house was also anthologized by the "Los Angeles: An Architectural Guide."

Passenger forced to stand on flight

Passenger forced to stand on flight
Passenger forced to stand on flight_ The passenger who had to stand during a seven-hour flight because of a morbidly obese man sitting next to him has today spoken about his ordeal.
Arthur Berkowitz, 57, said his 400lb neighbour on US Airways Flight 901 from Anchorage to Philadelphia made it impossible to get into his seat.
The obese man spilled over into Mr Berkowitz's personal space and he could not move because the plane was full so he was forced to stand up.

He said the obese man was very sorry. 'The first thing he said to me was: "I want to apologise - I'm your worst nightmare",' he told MailOnline.
'He was a real gentleman. The first thing he said to me was: "I want to apologise - I'm your worst nightmare"'
Arthur Berkowitz
Mr Berkowitz added that his ordeal in July presented a safety risk because he could not use his seatbelt for take-off and landing.
'I didn't fly from Alaska to Philadelphia on Flight 901,’ Mr Berkowitz told consumer advocate Christopher Elliot’s blog. ‘I stood.’
'His size required both armrests to be raised up and allowed for his body to cover half of my seat,’ he told the website, elliott.org.

irways for 50 years, he said.
He added that there was a young exchange student from Eastern Europe on the same row as him who was 'pinned up against the window' by the obese man because there was so little space.
Flight attendants whom he told about the problem said they could not help him as he was not allowed to sit in their jump seats.
‘They were sympathetic, but could not do anything,’ he told elliott.org. ‘No other seats existed on plane.’
Mr Berkowitz claims they admitted their gate agent had made an error in allowing the passenger to board without having bought two seats.

US Airways has since apologised for the 'regrettable' incident. A statement said: 'Our intention is to offer the best travel experience possible.
'The details you have provided indicate that we have failed to meet our intentions.' It offered Mr Berkowitz a $200 voucher in compensation.

But he called this 'inappropriate' after paying more than $800 for the ticket. He also complained the airline has not fixed the safety issue.
'I reviewed his case and agreed with him that US Airways might want to take another look at his complaint,' Mr Elliott wrote on his blog.
'I mean, leaving a passenger with no alternative but to stand for almost seven hours - if that’s true, then this might be one of those rare cases when a full refund is in order.'
Mr Berkowitz told MailOnline he raised the issue primarily because he wants the airline and authorities 'to develop a policy on safety'.
