British Open Results: Darren Clarke, Phil Mickelson Dueling for Claret Jug

British Open Results Favoring Darren Clarke and Phil Mickelson

Darren Clarke and Phil Mickelson currently sit in the top two spots on the leaderboard and both don't appear to be going anywhere at this point.

Lefty has rallied from five shots down and even the scored at -5 before Clarke picked up an eagle.

Mickelson's surge to the top has been incredible considering he started the day at even par. There are only six players currently under par and only one golfer has a better score than Clarke.

Clarke leads by two strokes right now and appears to be getting all the bounces right now. Clarke appeared to be heading into the bunker at one point today but got a lucky bounce that kicked the ball up and put it on the green instead.

Dustin Johnson appeared to be the biggest threat to Clarke at the beginning of the day but he has fallen as of later and site four shots behind Clarke.

The rain has continued to fall as of late and the wind has been blowing at nearly 30 miles per hour today. With the players starting the back nine, anything could happen as these golfers try to win the Claret Jug.
